THE SITE'S FIXED!
The banner said “gimme a couple days.” Here’s what took so long.
WHAT THIS SITE DOES
Pick your unit. Pick its gear. Pick a target. Dice Dakka tells you the odds — the real ones. No simulated dice, no “rolled it 10,000 times” — it works through every roll in the attack sequence and comes back with the exact number. When it says 79.6% to wipe the squad, that’s the maths, not an estimate of it.
SO WHAT HAPPENED
Short version: some of the numbers were wrong, and I couldn’t leave it like that.
The site used to run on imported community data files. Great files — but stitched into a calculator they gave me phantom units, stale points, wargear combos you can’t actually take. Patching one hole a day was losing. So I stopped patching. I rebuilt the whole catalogue as the site’s own database and went through every faction — all 36 of them — unit by unit against what’s tournament-legal right now. Then I froze the result under a couple hundred automated checks, so a number can never quietly drift again. If something changes now, it’s because it changed in the actual game.
LOADOUTS ARE REAL NOW
Biggest change on the site. Wargear used to be checkboxes, and checkboxes let you build squads that don’t exist. Now every datasheet carries its printed loadout rules, and the Muster shows your unit as the actual squad — every model a base in the rank. Click a base, hand it a gun, and if the codex says no, the click just doesn’t take. What reaches the engine is a squad you could put on a table.
AND THE REST
One vs One got rebuilt from the ground up — arm both sides, one button flips who’s attacking. One vs All ranks a whole faction by how dead your target of choice is. All vs One answers “what do I even shoot at that thing.” The Unit Dex is the whole catalogue, searchable. All of it works on your phone now. And the new Ork codex is already in — including the datasheets nobody else has data for yet.
♥ COULDN’T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT
This site stands on things people built for free, on their own time, because they love the hobby. The BSData crew spent years keying datasheets in by hand — that’s what got this site off the ground. New Recruit is the gold standard for what’s actually legal, and it’s what I checked every one of the 36 factions against. And everyone who sent in a screenshot of a wrong number instead of just closing the tab — you shaped half of what’s on this page. Genuinely: I couldn’t have made this without you lot.
